Crunchy Outside...Soft in the Middle

Here is Tim sliding some ice on ice...

Jackson, It's cold outside!

Jackson, our outside boy said this morning, "It's cold outside." So here's a song going out to him...And yes, you still have to go outside and get the seven inches of snow topped with 1/2 inch of ice off of our awning.

Winter Wonderland

It has been snowing ALL day! We are loving every minute of this fabulous snow. We like this kind of precipitation much better than it's wetter cousin, RAIN.

Thank you Michael and Caleb for coming to play with us!

Peacock Lane and Christmas ships

Tonight we took advantage of the good weather and went out to see the Christmas lights on Peacock Lane. It was perfect. It was lightly snowing, not very crowded, entertaining and talented carolers, hot cocoa and cider and of course, lights. I think we counted 5 baby Jesus's. It made me chuckle.

On the way home, we stopped to see the Christmas ships on the WIllamette River. We had only one picture turn out, so the rest are lifted. It was a night of lights!

Another Day of Snowed in Bliss...

The more time they have at home, the more time they have to think up "new" activities.

Christmas concerts galore!

We have attended three concerts just this week, so we know the Christmas Season is upon us! One of our stops was the Arlene Schnitzer Concert hall downtown. It is such a lovely building, one of my favorites in Portland. Jefferson's high school choir joined another high school choir and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra for a beautiful rendition of Beethoven's 5th.

Another one of our Portland favorites, is the bubbler drinking fountains. They run continuously, who doesn't like that?

And Mr. Jackson found a paper crown somewhere and decided he was King of Portland. Oh, it feels good to be outside after a three hour concert!

Whose teeth are these?

Let's see if you can place the teeth in the correct mouth...

So...which mouth would you put them into?

Today Kennedy was very, very, brave and she got 4 of her baby teeth pulled. Here she is with her "Happy gas" mask onto help relax her a bit.

Alex, the dental hygenist was so kind and comforting to Kennedy. I think they are new best friends.

And here is Kennedy sans four teeth. I have no idea how her mouth can hold so many teeth!

Jackson took these lovely teeth from a half decomposed nutria and made them into this lovely necklace that he wears proudly. He is so enamored with nutria he has set a "nutria trap" on the island and checks it daily for a catch. I am thinking he will be coming home one night from his trap checks smelling of skunk ;0)
